About Me

My name is Asa, I'm 36 years old and I've lived in Leamington Spa, England for the past 20 years.

I graduated from Aston University in 1996 with a BSc in Law and Managerial studies (Honours). It wasn't until I graduated - possibly a bit later - that I started to learn a bit more about life.

I worked in Wealth Management for Charles Schwab stockbrokers for several years after graduation. Life was really good. I was treated very well, worked with some real characters and there were plenty of opportunities to progress internally. Sadly, the technology boom came to an abrupt halt and so did business. Within a few months, Barclays stripped the customer base and made us all redundant. Nothing lasts forever, but they were good times.

As I didn't want to live and work in London due to the pace of life, I had little alternative but to make a career change. As you could imagine, it was pretty tough starting at the bottom of the ladder again. I landed a job at the Bradford and Bingley as a Sales Associate.

Despite not really enjoying sales, I seemed to do well because people trusted me. I was quickly promoted to the role of Account Manager. I spent a few years in this capacity before it dawned on me that all of the nice people were being forced out. I decided that enough was enough and also left.

My life took a turn for the worse which is one of the main reasons for my understanding of debt. I made a few bad decisions that I would have addressed so differently today. I believe that one of the biggest mistakes many of us make is turning unsecured debt into debt secured on our home.

I have a deep desire to share my knowledge and understanding of debt management with others. Whilst I was able to help friends and colleagues on a day-to-day basis, this simply wasn't enough for me. Just over a year ago, I started writing for a large Canadian website called Suite101. I was soon promoted to Feature Writer for Loans and Mortgages and now have an opportunity to reach up to 20 million monthly readers.

I started best-debt-relief-solutions on the 17 September 2009 and am working hard to help you all to achieve a future that is free from personal debt and worry.
